Butterfly Valves
Fluoropolymer-Lined SBP Butterfly Valves are proven high quality process valves for a wide range of applications. They are used in such diverse industries as chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, pulp and paper, mining, and associated fields. They are suitable for installation in piping systems in accordance with DIN PN10/16 or ANSI 150lbs, fitting flanges per EN 1092 or ASME B16.5. Face-to-face dimensions are in accordance with EN 558-1 row 20, as well as ASME B16.10.
SBP bodies are available in wafer-style, with integrated centering lugs, or in lug-style with threaded bolt holes. Depending on the application the 2-part bodies can be made from epoxy-coated ASTM A216 WCB cast steel (1.0619), from CF-8M (AISI 316SS) Stainless Steel (1.4408), or from AISI 316L (1.4404). Integrated ISO 5211 mounting flanges allow direct mounting of 90° actuators. A key feature of SBP Butterfly Valves is the slim profile, bubble-tight 1-piece disc/stem assembly which maximizes flow capacity and offers polished sealing surfaces for leak-proof performance. Disc cores are made from ASTM A240 Duplex SS (1.4462), and the thoroughly anchored encapsulation guarantees the required bonding strength for vacuum applications.
Customers benefit greatly from the extended life span and hysteresis-free characteristics of Swissfluid Butterfly Valves during control applications. Liners with wide sealing grooves eliminate the need for additional gasketing by the end-user. Replacement of our liners is easily accomplished in the field.
Body liners made from highly stable materials such as PTFE, PTFE-AS (anti-static), PTFE-T (for vacuum service), UHMWPE or PVDF are readily available. Discs can be encapsulated with PFA, PFA-AS (anti-static), ETFE or Polypropylene. Discs can also be furnished in solid one-piece construction from 1.4462 Duplex SS, welded 316L SS, grade 2 Titanium, Hastelloy C, or special alloys. The notched stem with the rated breaking point outside the valve is an important additional safety feature for environmental protection.
Of course proper safety factors always have to be considered for pneumatic or electric actuator applications.
EN 12266-1 and API 598 – required tightness is met across the entire pressure and temperature range from -40°C (-40°F) to 230°C (446°F) resp. 1mbar (0.01psi) to 16 bar (232psi) with features such as high-strength body halves connections, maintenance-free shaft sealing per TA-Luft (VDI 2440) and elastomeric backing of the liner. Highly corrosive, abrasive and even toxic liquids, vapors or poisonous gases constantly challenge the quality, functionality and safety of specified butterfly valves.
Swissfluid’s lined SBP Butterfly Valves meet and exceed all criteria in the harshest environments!
Ball Valves Class 150lbs and SBV Ball Valves Class 300lbs
Swissfluid full-port SBV Ball Valves are fully lined state of the art process valves (ANSI sizes full port ½” to 6″, reduced port 6″ and above). They have proven themselves in the most demanding chemical and petrochemical applications, as well in such diverse areas as pharmaceutical, pulp and paper, mining, and related industries. They are suitable for flanged piping systems in accordance with ASME B16.5 and EN 1092 specifications. Face to face dimensions adhere to EN 558-1 cat. 1 and ASME B16.10. These valves fully adhere to the requirements of the European Pressure Equipment Directive 97/23/EG Appendix III, Module H. Raw material test reports and inspection certificates in accordance with EN 10204 can be furnished on request.
Depending on the intended use, the friction-locked (metal-to-metal) 2-piece bodies are available in epoxy-coated 1.0619 cast steel (ASTM A216 WCB) or in solid 1.4408 stainless steel (CF-8M / AISI 316). ISO top flanges allow quarter-turn actuators to be mounted directly to the valves, eliminating the need for mounting brackets or couplers. A distinguishing feature of Swissfluid SBV Ball Valves is the blowout-proof one-piece ball-stem assembly. This design feature greatly guarantees extended service life of the valve and hysteresis-free control operations.
Long-lasting coating materials of the highest quality, such as PFA, PFA-AS (anti-static), PVDF or ETFE are used for the lining of the bodies and ball encapsulations. One-piece ball-stem assemblies made of solid SS316L, Titanium Gr. 2, Hastelloy C are available as well as ceramic balls with interlocked SS stems. Standard configuration balls offer a full-port cylindrical passage of media. V-Port balls for control applications, Cs configuration and vented balls are also available. The notched stem with the rated breaking point outside the valve is an important additional safety feature for environmental protection.
Leak free requirements over the whole pressure and temperature range of 1mbar to 16 bar resp. -40°C to +200°C (0.01 psi to 232psi / -40°F to +392°F) per EN 12266-1 and API 598 are made possible by the metal-to-metal joint of the 2 body halves, and the maintenance-free dynamically-loaded stem, in accordance with TA Luft (VDI 2440 and DIN EN ISO 15848-1). The choice of body linings and ball encapsulations impact the referenced pressure and temperature ranges. Factory spare parts are easily replaced in the field
Highly corrosive media, hot liquids, steam, toxic gases, etc. in demanding process applications severely test the longevity, quality, functionality and safety of our valves.

Diaphragm Valve
The key features of the Swissfluid SDV Diaphragm Valve are reliability and simplicity in construction. Its cavity-free and self-draining design make our SDV Diaphragm Valve the preferred choice for chemical and pharmaceutical applications. The simple maintenance and the possibility to replace the diaphragm assembly without having to remove the valve from the line makes this valve also a popular choice in other industries.
We offer our SDV Diaphragm Valve in accordance with DIN specification (EN 1092, EN 558-1, cat. 1) as well as ANSI (ASME B16.5, MSS SP-88). The standard configuration consists of a 1.0619 cast steel body (per ASTM A216 WCB), fully lined with PFA and a PTFE/EPDM diaphragm. This economically priced combination affords the highest chemical resistance against virtually all chemicals. Swissfluid also offers this valve in 1.4408 SS (CF-8M; AISI 316) with a choice of liners such as PFA-AS (anti-static), polypropylene or PVDF, and an optional low diffusion, triple-layer diaphragm.
Our SDV Diaphragm Valve can be factory-equipped with pneumatic or electric actuators, making it suitable for automatic on-off applications or in connection with positioners for use as control valves. Actuators are available with polypropylene housings (economical, corrosion-proof, light weight) or with sturdy steel enclosures.
90° Pneumatic Actuators
SPA-R 90° Pneumatic Actuators are used for a wide variety of applications, and are particularly well suited for operating Swissfluid process valves, such as butterfly valves, ball valves or cylindrical plug valves. These actuators can be used for single-acting fail-close or fail-open applications as well as for double-acting setups, and can be fine-tuned at the fully open and fully closed positions. They come properly set up from the factory with the appropriate valve and can be adjusted in the field. The rack and pinion movement is operated by compressed air in both directions for double acting.
Single acting compressed air is used in one direction only, and heavy-duty springs control the movement in the other direction. In the event of a sudden lack of air pressure these actuators automatically default to a safety position, which can be fully closed or fully open depending on the setup and requirements.
These actuators are distinguished by solid aluminum bodies that have withstood the test of time; optionally the actuator bodies are available in stainless steel. The proven rack and pinion construction and the perfectly machined internal parts guarantee a long service life.
Depending on available air pressure torque values from 20Nm to 10’025Nm (at 6 bar / 87psi for double-acting actuators) are possible, or 12Nm to 5’980Nm for single-acting actuators and 6 bar / 87pis air pressure. The maximum allowable air pressure for these actuators is 8 bar / 116 psi. Due to their wide application range and compact industrial design pneumatic actuators are suitable for applications in temperatures ranging from -20°C / -4°F to 80°C / 176°F.
The actuators come with standard NAMUR pattern interfaces in accordance with VDI/VDE 3845 and feature a Double-D drive. Using adapters or couplings enables the actuators to be customized for special applications. Standard drilled mounting options per ISO 5211 (2 bolt circles as a minimum) can be expanded by the use of special mounting kits.
Visual position indicators are a standard feature of our actuators. They can be adapted to meet the exact customer requirements when combined with solenoid valves (24DC, 110V/AC or 230VAC), limit switch boxes with proximity or electro-mechanical switches, electro-pneumatic positioners (4-20 mA), silencers, throttling devices, manual overrides, air filter regulators, etc. Consequently, they offer near-limitless flexibility. The trouble-free function of these actuators is attained by 100% functional and sealing performance testing on electronic test stations.
Multipurpose SPA-R actuators from Swissfluid will regulate valves exactly to your preferences!
Pneumatic Linear Stroke Actuators
Our Stroke Actuators convert pressure into linear movement and can be used as on-off devices or for control valve applications. They offer strong closing forces, are fast-acting, and are inherently explosion-proof. Depending on the type of model used, 5 – 7 bar (72 – 102 psi) air pressure is permissible and can be fully utilized.
Most commonly used as basic on-off devices, our linear stroke actuators are calibrated to work with a minimum air pressure of 4 bar (58 psi). At low pressures the integral spring units can be reduced also, allowing for perfect adaption of the attached valve. These spring units are automatically de-energized when the bonnet is removed. There are several actuator functions to choose from:
FC (fail closed): the valve is opened by air pressure and closed by spring force, resulting in the pre-determined final (fail closed) position.
FO (fail open): the valve is opened by spring force and closed by air pressure, resulting in the pre-determined final (fail open) position.
DA (double acting): the valve is opened and closed by air pressure, and has no defined basic position.
An optional, suitable adapter allows stroke limitation and emergency hand operation that can be combined with electrical feedback units. The flange-mount adapted unit enables the simple connection with a specific pneumatic or electro-pneumatic positioner (4-20 mA), thereby allowing full use of all control valve functions.
Ball Check Valves
Swissfluid fully lined SBC Ball Check Valves are primarily used in applications with highly corrosive media, and are suitable for horizontal and vertical piping systems. Due to the solid PTFE ball residing in a high-volume chamber, pressure losses are minimal. The flexible sealing lips at the ball seat area enable positive shut-off with very low pressure differentials. Conversely, the ball allows media to flow freely during the entire opening operation. This flanged valve is easily and securely installed in DIN as well as ANSI piping systems, and the body is clearly marked with a directional arrow.
The robust and maintenance-free design utilizes ASTM A-216 WCB (1.0619) as standard body material. Bodies can also be furnished in AISI A316 stainless steel (CF-8M / 1.4408) and AISI A316L (CF-3M / 1.4404) for service in corrosive atmospheres. Face-to-face dimensions are in accordance with EN 558-1 row 20 and ASME B16.10.
PFA and PFA-AS (anti-static) linings are mechanically locked in place. The standard material for the solid ball is virgin PTFE, but balls made from polypropylene, hollow PTFE balls, and encapsulated metal balls are also available.
The standard borosilicate glass plates (which meet DIN 7080 specifications) allow safe visual control of liquid or gaseous process media at all times. SBC Ball Check Valves are suitable for vacuum applications and can safely operate at temperatures of -40°C (-40°F) to 200°C (392°F), and maximum differential pressure of 10 bar (145psi).
Swing Check Valves
Swissfluid fully lined SSC Swing Check Valves are designed specifically for applications with highly corrosive media. They can replace similar valves made from exotic – and expensive – alloys. This valve is suitable for horizontal and vertical piping systems thanks to its ingenious construction where the disc is in full contact with the housing in horizontal applications. Additionally, the disc comes with a precision-machined lip which helps achieve leak-free sealing with minimal pressure differential, and its full-bore lined SS disc snaps into place in the lined body and cannot drop out during installation.
The state-of-the-art design of our SSC Swing Check Valve allows easy and accurate positioning of our valve in ANSI as well as DIN piping systems with the fully integrated centering lugs. An additional, easily accessible drill hole situated between the centering lugs further facilitates installation of larger sizes.
Minimum pressure loss is achieved by the large opening angle of the disc in our Swing Check Valve.
The standard lining material for our Swing Check Valves is highly permeation-resistant PFA or PFA-AS (anti-static). Options include solid metal discs made from SS316L, Titanium Gr. 2 and Hastelloy-C. Fluoroplastic linings of the body and fully encapsulated disc are mechanically-locked assuring form-stable adhesion over the entire application range, which is critical in high temperatures or vacuum conditions.
Our standard body material is ASTM A-216 WCB (1.0619). AISI A316 stainless steel (CF-8M / 1.4408) bodies can be furnished also, for service in corrosive atmospheres.
Our Swing Check Valves are available wafer style; however, for heavy-duty applications flanged lug connections are available on request. Face-to-face dimensions are in accordance with EN 558-1 row 20.
Not only do SSC Swing Check Valves distinguish themselves with their quiet operation, they are also maintenance-free and can be used with differential pressure up to 10 bar (145psi) in temperatures ranging from -40°C (-40°F) to 200°C (392°F).
The self-sealing disc protects the system from pressure surges common in longer piping systems, and acts as an excellent barrier to the unintended draining of media in piping systems during maintenance and repair work.
